What a night! I mean everybody came out the woodworks, and of course
proved to be yet another HAWT night at NeoSoul
Notorious 13, what what, was our host for the evening
B Shatter opened up with er ummmm, yeah "Candy"
We switched it up a bit, bringing poets up together in 3's with a theme
Three Men & a Mic were up first, which included Christopher Michael,
Phetote, and Shake Madness
Next up, Some Like It Hot, which included Doc, Shameless, and
MichelleDesiree
Element 615, Jomar, and Danny finished it up
Iggy enjoyed "Happy Meals"
Carla was "Being A Poet"
Virgin to our mic, Chelsea, said "I Too Am America"
Dawn Renea was "We"
Sai'Lah said "I Apologize"
Ron Horne, Thirteen, and BFran hit the mic with a hotness...old school at
its best
Soooo it also was a qualifying slam, which proved to bring out some of
the best
12 poets battled it out like it was no tomorrow...GO IN OR GO HOME!!
Allen was the sacrificial poet, with these poets to follow in the First
Round:
Faylita, Scott Free, Seth Walker, Danny, Iggy, Doc, Shake, Jomar, Ebony,
B Shatter, Phetote, and Christopher Michael
Christopher Michael, Doc, B Shatter, Shake, Ebony, and Seth Walker
went through to the Second Round
Last Round went down like this with the following ranks:
Shake Madness came in 3rd place
Seth Walker was 2nd
Ebony was 1st, and
Doc came in 4th....it was a tight battle with only 2-10ths of a point
separating first and the rest
There were some poets who brought the art to the mic indeed, what a
great slam.
THIS WEEK its going down one more time...Mike Truth will be the
feature, and it is Round 4 of The Last Poet Standing...will Team PV
continue to hold its #1 spot? Well you got to come on out and vote to see.
By the way it is March Madness NeoSoul style...this is what is lined up,
with i'm sure more surprises...Tony Henry March 11th, Taalam Acey and
Round 5 of The Last Poet Standing March 18th, and on March 25 we will
choose the 2010 NeoSoul Slam Team....nawwww you don't want to miss
one Thursday!!
